An Off-beat Hill Station set amidst the conifer forests and fruit orchards. Mukteshwar offers the most enchanting view of the Himalayas and its snow bound peaks. Those looking to explore Mukteshwar can visit the Century Old Shiva Temple, popularly known as the Mukteshwar Temple located on top of a hill which comes alive during the annual Shivratri festival. Not too far from the Mukteshwar Temple is the Chauli Ki Jaali, a rocky cliff jutting 500 ft out from the hill and offering splendid views of the mountains and of the town of Ramgarh as well. The cliff has a hole and it is said that if one manages to make a parikrama through it, all his/her wishes will be fulfilled. However one needs to be very careful when doing parikrama. You can visit the Jim Corbett's Bungalow (Now called PWD bungalow) and calm your senses with a panoramic 180 degree view of the Himalaya Range.
Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) is a well-known landmark in Mukteshwar and a place worth visiting. It is a beautiful colonial style campus sprawling amidst a dense coniferous forest. The institute is one of the best veterinary hospitals in the area that takes care of the animals and birds of the area.

The nearest airport is at Pantnagar, and nearest railway head is at Kathgodam, 60 km from the town, from where vehicular transport is easily available, as also from neighboring towns of Bhimtal, Bhowali, and Nainital
